Valentine Ups & Downs

My Valentine's Day was an interesting one... The morning started off great - the girls were excited to get a fun Valentine from Mom & Dad and had a fun breakfast of cinnamon rolls hot from the oven. I loved being able to help with their Valentine's Day parties at school. Skye made me a beautiful flower pot, decorated sugar cookies and sang the cutest songs. Madi did crafts, exchanged Valentines and had fun snacks. Ryann was silly with her friends and ate way too much sugar. But my Valentine's Day also included the not-so-fun news that our van needed a new transmission for $1500 - I had to drag Bayli & Skye down to the transmission shop during the short break between the three parties. They gave us a "loaner". Imagine something from a really bad movie. I almost cried when I had to take my baby's brand-new beautiful carseat and put it in an absolutely filthy, ugly car-shaped ashtray (which had NO gas!). The smell was so horrible that Skye rode home with her arm over her face. Ryann had her head out of the window in the winter cold driving home from dance and Madi refused to get back in the stinky car to go to gymnastics. After that torture, my old minivan feels like a luxury vehicle! Just when I thought the worst was over, poor Skye got the stomach flu and started throwing up. I'm not sure which was worse, driving my sweet girls around in the repulsive mobile ashtray or listening to my baby scream while I cleaned vomit out of the sofa... My hubby did come home with a smile & a beautiful boquet of roses to salvage the day. :) I couldn't help but think the day was pretty much like my life in general... :) Happy Valentine's Day!

Sweet Girl, I am sorry you had such a dreadful time during this special day. But, at least you know you are loved and appreciated. Your roses are beautiful and I am sure they smelled wonderful after your "ashtray" with wheels, and your cleaning the sofa. Remember to be grateful in all things !
love you,
